Finishing in the last playoff spot, the Blasters, represented by Lokmanyu & Shubhum have plenty to go through if they were to go past the Islanders for the semifinal spot and eventually head all the way to the trophy.
Kerala Blasters started off their league stage by losing back to back games against FC Goa and Mumbai City FC, before sharing the spoils equally with Bengaluru FC in their next one. Their next game handed them another defeat with East Bengal FC coming out on top but bounced back to get their first win of the campaign against Jamshedpur FC. They couldn’t keep up their winning game as NorthEast United gave them another L before getting equal points with Hyderabad FC and Odisha FC in their next two fixtures. Having to win their final two games of the league stage against ATK Mohun Bagan and Chennaiyin FC respectively, they do it in style by taking away all three points against both of them to grab the final playoffs spot.
The Blasters will take on Mumbai City FC in the second knockout fixture of the playoffs, vying for a spot in the semifinal. But can they pull it off against an in-form Krusher and Sakky is something that we will have to wait and watch.
