Chennaiyin FC and Mumbai City FC played out a breath-taking match, as the former were a bit more clinical and justifiably walked away with top honours. Mumbai City FC pulled one back after losing the first game, but Chennaiyin FC played some exceptional football in the decider to claim full points from the clash.
Chennaiyin FC’s SARANSHJAIN17 dominated the game from the starting whistle, as he gave almost no breathing space to Mumbai City FC’s ASHWIN1411, with the former going into the break with a 3-1 lead. Even though ASHWIN1411 pulled one back, his opponent took control of the game completely in the closing stages as he scored a fourth to clinch a win.
Mumbai City FC’s TIKKA started the second game on a high by scoring early on and he also defended remarkably to maintain the lead going into the break. Even though Chennaiyin FC’s NAVINH29 restored parity in the second half, TIKKA kept on pressing and eventually reaped the fruits, as he took the lead once again towards the closing stages of the game. But, a brilliant goal from NAVINH29 in the dying moments of the game kept the score at 2-2 as the final whistle was blown.
The Chennaiyin FC duo started with a bang in the third game, as they went up by two goals within the first 20 minutes, as their opposition were on the backfoot. Despite consistent efforts from the Mumbai City FC force, the shots were blocked each time, as they were trailing 0-2 by the half-time. Mumbai City FC did score one, but Chennaiyin FC held till the end to win the game 2-1 to log full points from the match.
