The eISL Season 2 is off to a competitive start! Matchday 1 of the eISL Season 2 saw three closely contested fixtures, with only one team securing all three points for their club and the rest settling for a single point each.
Match 1 had the previous year's finalists facing off against each other. The first game saw the MVP of Season 1, Navin Haridoss take on a new Mumbai City recruit, Sakky. Navin started the proceedings for Season 2 scoring the first goal, but Sakky pulled one back to end the first game of Season 2 in a draw. The co-op game saw the fresh pairing of Sakky and Aditya take on Navin and former Mumbai City star, Tikkatown. The game was closely contested with both teams trading goals, before Mumbai city found the breakthrough to secure the first game win of the Season. However, the final game saw Tikkatown showing his former club no remorse as he brought Chennaiyin FC back in the match by scoring twice and leaving the final scorecard of the match at one each. Chennaiyin FC will return on Matchday 2 to play against Hyderabad FC.
The second match of the opening day was a clash between Bengaluru FC and NorthEast United F.C, where CJ12 went head-to-head with his National side teammate, Saransh Jain. Well known for his skills and expertise, it was a complete CJ show that saw Bengaluru draw first blood against the Highlanders. The co-op saw Saransh and Emaad convert the first goal of the game but the Blues leveled the game off a beautiful cross into the box for a goal early in the second half. The final game saw a rematch of Season 1 as Sagnik faced off against Emaad in a tie filled with goals. Sagnik took the lead early in the game and made sure to stay ahead of his opposition to secure his side their first three points of the Season and first win for a club in eISL Season 2. East Bengal FC went up against Jamshedpur FC in the final match of Matchday 1 which saw Akshat and Arvind locking horns in the first head-to-head game. Arvind got the opening goal in the 9th minute whereas Akshat leveled it by converting the first penalty of the season. Game 1 ended with 1-1 on the scoreboard. The co-op game saw new teammates Akshat and Ben07 take on Arvind and Deekay. Jamshedpur dominated the fixture as the duo closed out the game with a convincing 4-1 victory. The final fixture featured yet another rematch of the first season but with Deekay now representing the Red Miners. The game was an absolute thriller, thanks to the seven goals from these two clubs. Deekay was off to a flying start with the fastest goal of the season yet, but Ben07 stayed within striking distance to complete the comeback and secure the match for East Bengal FC. The match ended as a draw with both teams finding one win each.
eISL Season 2 actions returns today, on Matchday 2, as FC Goa take on Kerala Blasters FC, followed by Odisha FC versus ATK Mohun Bagan and finally Hyderabad facing off against Chennaiyin FC. The action will begin at 7PM IST with matches being streamed live on eISL Gaming YouTube and Indian Super League YouTube handles
