Another exciting tripleheader took place in the eISL on Tuesday when SC East Bengal and Kerala Blasters FC registered wins over Chennaiyin FC and FC Goa respectively. NorthEast United FC were held to a draw by ATK Mohun Bagan and will now face a massive challenge in their hopes of making the top-four.
The results mean that the Red & Gold brigade will remain at the top of the league table, while KBFC and ATKMB remain in eighth and eleventh respectively. NorthEast United FC are just one point behind fourth-placed FC Goa, but the Gaurs have a game-in-hand over NEUFC.
The first clash of the day ended in a comfortable victory for SC East Bengal over Chennaiyin FC. In game-1, NOT_ANKITGUPTA scored the only goal of the game early in the first half and got the victory. Similarly, IM_BENO7 scored the only goal of game-2 in the 50th minute and sealed the win for SC East Bengal. In the co-op match, Chennaiyin FC took the lead with a goal in the 35th minute but SCEB restored parity early in the second half, ending the final game in a draw. SC East Bengal went away with all three points from the clash.
NOT_ANKITGUPTA scored two goals in the clash and was declared the Hero of the Match.
NorthEast United FC drew the second clash of the day against ATK Mohun Bagan. In game-1, MUFFUBURHANI scored early in the match but was pegged back by BINDRATEJ in the 65th minute, ending in a 1-1 draw. In game-2, KT DHILLON got a crucial goal in the 37th minute to win the game 1-0 against EMAADROX. In the co-op game, NEUFC scored on the verge of half-time and they doubled their advantage with a well-worked goal in the 66th minute. They sealed their victory with a goal with Mbappe in the dying embers of the game. Both teams took a point from the game.
MUFFUBURHANI was adjudged as the Hero of the Match for his individual brilliance.
In the final encounter of the night, game-1 was won by V–SHARMA10. He scored the opening goal of the game at the 26th-minute mark but it was quickly responded to by A-K-S-H-A-TO8, who scored just five minutes later. However, V–SHARMA10 restored his advantage in the 70th minute, clinching the first game.
In game-2, LOKMANYU06 scored in the 37th and cemented the win with a goal in the 89th minute to even the match.
In the co-op game, KBFC scored two goals in the first half which proved enough for them to get all three points from this clash.
LOKMANYU06 scored six goals and was awarded the Hero of the Match.
